North Brings Focals Smart Glasses to the West Coast via New Pop-Up Showroom
North’s Pop-Up Showroom tour begins February 19 in Seattle, then heads to Bay Area; limited reservations now open
SEATTLE – February 15, 2019 – On February 19, North will bring its Focals smart glasses to the West Coast by way of a new Pop-Up Showroom. It will arrive in Seattle on February 19 at IMPark (2301 7th Avenue, Seattle WA, 98121), then head to the Bay Area (exact dates and locations to be announced shortly).
This Pop-up Showroom will allow potential customers to try-on Focals, and demo how the stylish smart glasses can send and receive text messages, show calendar updates, speak with Amazon Alexa, hail an Uber and more. They’ll also be able to purchase Focals and go through North’s custom-sizing experience.
After a customer visits the Pop-up Showroom, their Focals will then be built to their exact specifications and available for pick-up several weeks later.
Reservations for this experience are limited and can be secured here. Walk-ins are also available but are subject to availability.
“Our Showrooms in Brooklyn and Toronto have been a great starting place, but we’ve had a lot of demand outside of those markets. With our new Pop-up Showroom, we’ll be able to bring Focals to potential customers all across North America,” said Stephen Lake, CEO and Co-founder of North. “We’re starting with Seattle and the Bay Area, but will be expanding beyond there soon. Stay tuned.”
This announcement comes on the heels of North’s announcement that prescription Focals are now available for purchase. North also rolled out a new pricing model this week with non-prescription lenses starting at $599 USD and prescription lenses starting at $799 USD. Alternative Round Frames, limited edition color finishes and premium lenses are also available for an additional $100 USD each.

Focals are a pair of custom-built smart glasses with a transparent, holographic display that only the wearer can see. This display floats an arm’s length in front of you and connects you to the people you care about, the information you need and the places you want to go. Focals let you see and respond to texts, get turn-by-turn directions, check the weather, request an Uber, talk to Amazon Alexa and more — seamlessly and immediately. The glanceable and minimalist interface gives you control over what’s happening in your digital world without pulling you away from what’s in front of you. Focals come in two frames (Classic and Round), three colors (Black, Tortoise and Grey Fade) and offer either prescription or non-prescription lenses. All orders include Loop, Charging Case and Sun Clips.
